Experience
I have taught (and tutored) at public and private institutions (university, secondary and junior high school levels in the U.S. and England) that have included Harvard Business School and Brandeis University. Critical thinking is at the core of any teaching I do. In 2009-10, I tutored a Yale graduate student from Japan who needed help polishing his use of English. I have read in depth in a wide range of subjects in the humanities, history, social sciences and evolutionary theory, and I have sat in on a variety of graduate courses at Yale. For many years I worked as a freelance writer in the software industry. I am an actor and have taught improvisational drama. I have learned and taught about the climate crisis. I have been a docent in ancient cultures and Tokugawa Japan at the Yale Peabody Museum. Because this site limits what I can type in the box for my hourly rate, I will note here that my rate starts at $50 and goes up depending on the level of help I'm providing.
